As I continue on this journey of knowledge related to the feminine brain, I have learned quite a few things and engaged in some great conversations with other women about the topic (live and virtual). During a Facebook thread a question was posed about "why people should or shouldn't take everything said to them personal." This one post led into a 30 plus responses from various women as they sounded off on the issue at hand. At the end of the discussion however several things were clearly stated by various women:
1. Women can act like "girls" and be stigmatized for it however men can act like "boys" and it appears to be accepted.
2. Women want equality in this arena i.e. they want guys to behave more like men in general.
3. Women must be accountable for "the girl within" and work to create a balance between the "girl" and the "woman."

Brain Power: Different for Women?
As I prepare for an upcoming teleseminar on the feminine brain, I began to think about whether our brains are really that much different than men's brains. With so much information out there I decided to do my own research on this topic and discovered yes, there is a difference and some big differences that we as women can tap into to have better lives and careers.
According to Mona Lisa Schulz, the author of The New Feminine Brain: Developing Your Intuitive Genius, "women have a unique feminine brain. Being a woman gives you some inborn mental and emotional challenges, however, the unique wiring of your brain and body also gives you some unique gifts and abilities." This has been a fascinating book to read and while I knew some of this "stuff" boy have I learned a lot about the power of the feminine brain.
For example, the feminine brain has more connections between brain areas whereas men have fewer. Men are more likely compartmentalize whereas women's brains are making connections from one compartment to another at an ongoing and very active rate. Oh! I love this one, women's brains have a greater capacity for growth and change over time (plasticity). And although the male brain is 10 percent larger than the female brain it has fewer connections between the cells. Wow! isn't that something? This is not about superiority just about differences.
So how can women begin to tap into this feminine brain power and use it to their advantage and overcome life and work challenges? That is the million dollar question. As I continue my research on this topic, I will be sure to keep you updated on my findings and share insights on how you can tap into this wonderful power of the feminine brain!
What I hope to reveal is:
1. How we can better manage our time and energy by adequately using our femine brain power.
2. How we can use its uniqueness to achieve the life we desire.
3. How we can leverage this difference when in male-dominated situations.

Inspiration Knows No Color
When women come together for a common cause or purpose there are no limits to what we can accomplish. I had a recent opportunity to experience (again) the power of women supporting one another despite their differences and wow! what an experience it was. The first annual Create Your Vibrant Life Empowerment Conference for women in Omaha, Nebraksa was a HUGE success! Women from various ethnic backgrounds, ages, religious beliefs, and socio-economic status came together on one day in one room to be inspired and empowered to become their best selves and create lives they love.
As I reflect back on the May 15th event, it was wonderful to see the diversity in the room. There were black, white and latina women. There were older, mature, young and mid-life women. There were professional women, business owners and women of all walks of life in the room. There were mothers and daughters there together, friends and business partners there to change the way they live their lives. These women did not see color, age, religion, income, status, class or any other "difference" during they day, they saw, believed in and embraced a common thread--womanhood!
The conference was specifically designed to create a space where women could come together, just as they are and BE in the moment, BE comfortable in their own skin and BE without masks, credentials or other outward identifiers. At the conclusion of the day, each woman was given a balloon or two and asked to attach the one thing that was keeping them stuck in life to that balloon. The wonderful, inspiring conference ended with each woman releasing that balloon into the air (outside) with full intention to begin creating a life they love with no more excuses, no limits, no worries, no doubts and no FEAR!
This was a fabulous day for women to connect, share, learn and transform in the vibrant women they desire to be. It was a honor to be in the room with each and every woman who shared space with me that day. At the end of the day we are the same...women who want to live, laugh, love and dream.
